“ We had the absolute pleasure of seeing Rae perform at The Commodore, and I can’t recommend her enough. Her talent is simply unmatched—she has a voice that stops you in your tracks. We first heard her sing at our wedding, where she brought the house down with her stunning vocals and heartfelt performance. It was unforgettable. Seeing her again at The Commodore, this time with her band, was just as incredible. The vibe was electric—she effortlessly blended soulful ballads with upbeat crowd-pleasers, and the entire audience was captivated. If you see Rae’s name on the lineup at The Commodore, do yourself a favor and go. She’s the real deal, and this venue brings out the best singers for live performances. An absolute must! ”
“ Let me tell you a time was have this place is absolutely amazing the vibe the atmosphere the people the service. This is definitely my go to spot whenever I come to visit. Charleston wanted the best band I’ve ever heard. Partly cloudy is their name. ”
“ I took my wife out for a midweek date night to The Commodore. It's a cool, quaint spot downtown that you have to go and check out. Parking is either on the street (if you can find a spot). Or you can park on the grass across from the front entrance. Walking inside, we really loved the aesthetics. They just had the right vibes all around. We had a few drinks of which I can't remember the names. But I'll be sure to update you once I find out. Unfortunately, they don't serve food. So make sure you get a bite to eat prior to coming in. The highlight was the band, The Living Daylights. They were soulful and groovy baby! They had a reggae/hip hop/neo soul type feel throughout the night. We definitely gotta catch them again. ”
“ Live show & bartender was AMAZING ! Had a great time ! ”
“ Loved this spot for great live music, fun crowd and excellent vibes. ”
“ I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I'm afraid to hype this up too much cuz I don't want it getting too packed. But if you want to hear really good music the house band sits in with different national recognized singers on the weekends. Nobody will be sitting by 12:00 at night. They've got a dance floor with the disco ball and steam comes out of the ceiling. Every time I've gone they play everything from Prince to Marvin Gaye. The Temptations to Bobby Brown. He can't go wrong if you want to dance to really good music. Sorry but there's no rap that I've seen there. It's usually packed with older people like me... I'm 46 and you'll see people from 30 to there late 50s and then after midnight you'll get the younger kids that are between 21 and 29 years old. You must be 21 to get in and there's no exceptions!!! There is not a lot of parking and it's kind of where the hood meets midtown. I've always taken a lift or Uber. The band will play till 1:45 in the morning and they usually don't get started till just after 10:00 PM. ”
“ It’s a lively and relaxing place to hear live music. We went on a less busy day and hung out by the bar. Drinks are well made and reasonably priced. Small dance floor available if you don’t want to just sit around. Everyone we met that night was friendly. ”
“ I haven’t been to The Commodore in what seems like forever! Let me just tell you, walking in it felt like I had been there just yesterday. From the front door, all the way to the back door I was treated like gold. The band Grandaddi Caddi, was amazing and the vibe was chill. Chandler the bartender was nothing shy of amazing. She is polite, friendly and her customer service is top notch. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, The Commodore is a must visit place!! ”
